Vlčeves: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A regular fixture in Vlčeves's annual calendar is the pilgrimage to the Church of St. Anne. It takes place every year on the Sunday after 25 July; processions from the surrounding area attend it.

Landscape

The undulating terrain of Vlčeves slopes southeast into the valley of the Černovický potok. The eastern boundary of the administrative area largely follows the deeply cut valley of the Javornička stream. The Dolejší rybník pond lies in the southern part of the village.

Another prominent natural feature is the Memorial Lime Tree, estimated to be between 500 and 600 years old.

Cultural and Religious Traces

Two cast-iron crosses stand along the road south of the municipality. The “Křížek jižně od obce vlevo” is located about 400 metres from the village centre, on the left side of the road when approaching from the direction of the village. The “Křížek jižně od obce vpravo” is located about 500 metres from the village centre, on the right side of the same road when approaching from the direction of the village.

Geographical Setting

In the wider regional surroundings of Vlčeves are the mountains Hora, Tlučin, Podstupský vrch and K Doubravě (Radenín-Bítov). The churches of Svatá Anna and Svatý Jan, as well as the Želivský Kláštor monastery, are also located there.

Routes and History

A green hiking trail runs through Vlčeves. A local cycling route also passes through the village and is suitable for excursions into the surrounding area.

Historical traces extend as far as the Cihelny settlement: the remains of the Nový mlýn mill are located there, on the border between South Bohemia and the Vysočina Region. The Na Papírně paper mill, also known as Kuberův mlýn, was founded in 1794 by Josef Entlicher on the Černovický potok.
