Veselka combines walking routes, technical relics and distinctive traces of the Czechoslovak fortification line.
Routes
The educational trail “Totalita rozděluje – demokracie spojuje” is 7.5 kilometres long and leads via a turn-off to Veselka. It is intended primarily for pedestrians and can also be used by cyclists; however, cyclists cannot turn off towards stop no. 5. From the Museum of Czechoslovak Fortifications in Veselka, the educational trail can be reached via a green-marked route.
History and Monuments
The preserved fortification structure no. 33 of type A-140Z in Veselka is the only surviving structure in this section of the fortification line. The preserved fortification structure houses a museum of Czechoslovak fortifications. The reinforced-concrete bunker A-140–33-Z (řopík) also stands near Veselka; it is a preserved remnant of the first border fortification line from 1937–38.
Farmstead no. 2 in Veselka is a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
Mill and Variety Diversity
The Kolínův mlýn mill in Veselka has a preserved Francis turbine manufactured by J. C. Bernard, Karlínská továrna na stroje, Prague. Opposite the mill in Veselka stands a brake stone. At the site of Gengel z. ú. at Veselka 52, 770 old and regional varieties are offered to the public for cultivation and seed propagation.
