Boschiletz: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Bošilecký rybník has been documented in written records since the 14th century and covers more than 200 hectares. In 1520, Štěpánek Netolický connected it via the Zlatá stoka to the pond system of the Třeboň estate.

Culture and History

The Church of St Martin is an important historical monument in Bošilec. It is a single-nave Gothic church; together with its cemetery, it stands on a slight elevation above the Bošilecký rybník in the southeastern part of Bošilec. Inside, there is a Rococo pulpit made of silver-plated wood, installed in the 18th century and shaped like a large whale.

The village heritage zone in Bošilec preserves agricultural farmsteads.

Bošilec and its surroundings are included in the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area. Hůrka is a mountain in the wider regional vicinity of Bošilec, and Zdoba is also a mountain in the wider regional vicinity of Bošilec. The surroundings of Bošilec also include U Lůsů [Ponědrážka], a hill, and Za Humny [Žíšov u Veselí nad Lužnicí], also a hill.

Getting Around

The existing cycle route 1134 runs through the Bošilec area and leads between Veselí nad Lužnicí and Ševětín.
