Mydlovary: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Mydlovary is one of the nine historic villages of Zbudovská Blata. The village combines distinctive local landmarks, a watercourse and several named cycling routes to create a diverse picture of rural South Bohemia.

Culture and tradition

The Chapel of the Holy Trinity in Mydlovary was built in 1914. It is a small central masonry structure with a trilobate floor plan. Another religious monument, a Boží muka wayside shrine, is located in the southeastern part of Mydlovary.

The Mydlovarská pouť pilgrimage festival is scheduled to take place in Mydlovary in May or June. This event regularly commemorates the residents who fell in the First World War. The “O mydlovarský kahan” firefighting competition is also scheduled for May.

Landscape and location

The Mydlovarský potok stream flows through the southeastern part of Mydlovary and empties into Mydlovarský rybník pond. The pond lies on the boundary of the municipality in the cadastral area of Zliv u Českých Budějovic.

The České Budějovice–Plzeň railway line runs through the southwestern part of Mydlovary. However, there is no railway station within the municipality.

Cycling routes

Cycle route 1080 between Vodňany and Hluboká nad Vltavou passes through Mydlovary. The “Včelařská stezka” cycle trail also runs through the village. Another route is the “Okruh ze Zlivi přes Blata” cycling circuit, which also passes through Mydlovary.
