Netrobitz: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Novohradské Mountains lie southeast of Netřebice, while the Šumava lies to the west. This geographical contrast alone gives the place a clearly defined landscape setting.

Landscape and Transport Routes

Netřebice is situated on a former imperial road that is now the international E55. The national railway line No. 196, which connects České Budějovice, Horní Dvořiště and Summerau, also runs through the Netřebice area. The first construction work on the horse-drawn railway began near Netřebice on 25 July 1825.

The hill (Hory) [Zvíkov-Chodeč-Zvíkov] is located in the immediate vicinity of Netřebice.

History and Remembrance

Netřebice was first documented in 1358 and was historically associated with Pořešín Castle. Later, the Rosenbergs incorporated Netřebice into the Nové Hrady estate, whose owners also held authority over Netřebice until the mid-19th century.

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk stands next to the kindergarten in Netřebice. It dates from 1825. The communal grave in Netřebice is the resting place of 44 victims, mostly from Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium and France, as well as the remains of two Soviet prisoners of war.

The Brzdový kámen from the 19th century near Netřebice is a technical memorial to transport by horse-drawn vehicles and an example of stone masonry.
