Lomnice Nad Luznicí: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

South of Lomnice nad Lužnicí, the Velký a Malý Tisý national nature reserve is located nearby, featuring a mosaic of open water surfaces and adjacent wetland vegetation.

Nature

The Velký Lomnický educational trail is 6.5 km long in total and has 15 stations. The first station is located on Zámecká Street, in the car park by Farská louka.

Lomnický velký rybník is considered one of the most significant sites in the Třeboňsko region for slender meadow foxtail (Coleanthus subtilis); the species occurs there regularly and in large numbers across an area of up to 1 ha.

Fishing at the Peřinka pond is possible for people who obtain a permit; the fishing season runs from April to October.

Culture

Kostel sv. Václava was founded in 1359 by Vilém ml. z Landštejna, originally as a castle chapel dedicated to Corpus Christi and Saints Peter and Paul. The defining feature of the church interior is an early Baroque altar with four lateral figures of saints from the workshop of the Bohemian-Budweis carpenter and woodcarver Jan Martin Schwarzmaier, dating from around 1658. The Gothic vault dates from the construction period in 1359.

An older sanctuary already stood on the site of Kostel sv. Jana Křtitele before the town was laid out and the castle was built. The painting of Saint John the Baptist on the main altar was created by Josef Peške from Lovosice in 1838. The imposing tower on the south side was probably built around the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries and is considered a typical Late Gothic work of the Rosenberg building workshop.

History

The Stará radnice is registered as an immovable cultural monument and was built before 1604.
