Culture and History

The preserved Renaissance building Dům Štěpánka Netolického in the historic center of Třeboň houses a permanent interactive exhibition about the Třeboň pond-building heritage and the life and work of Štěpánek Netolický. The 31-meter-high square tower of the Old Town Hall has a gallery offering views of Třeboň and the surrounding green-blue landscape.

Guided tours of the church Kostel Panny Marie Královny a sv. Jiljí include the church, the cloister, and a garden with a fountain.

Nature

Dům přírody Třeboňska has been operating in the historic center of Třeboň since 2010; it was the first House of Nature in the Czech Republic. The visitor center provides information about the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area and Biosphere Reserve, educational trails, and tourist attractions in the local landscape.

The permanent exhibition “Krajina a lidé” presents the history of nature and the landscape of the Třeboňsko region and offers entertaining educational activities for children and adults. During the visitor season, the Hortus Botanicus displays selected tropical and subtropical plant species from the Southern Hemisphere, as well as an exhibition of carnivorous plants from around the world, presented since 2016.
