Heřmaneč: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Heřmaneč is located in the northern part of the Novobystřická vrchovina at an altitude of 609 metres. The Czech Canada landscape region stretches south of the village.

Landscape

A prominent landmark is Vysoký kámen near Kunžak. At 714 metres, it is the highest point in the nature park and offers views of the surrounding landscape. The Zadní Radlický vrch mountain is located near Heřmaneč. The surrounding area also includes Babí hora, Kalcův vrch and Za Vrškem.

History and Culture

The first written mention of Heřmaneč dates from 1350; at that time, the village belonged to the estate of the Vladykas of Heřmaneč. A memorial to those who fell in the First and Second World Wars stands in the village.

Landštejn Castle and the Church of Svatý Ondřej are located near Heřmaneč. Roštejn Castle [Doupě] and the Janštejn ruins are also situated in the wider regional surroundings. East of Heřmaneč lies Vlkův mlýn, a mill with a turbine for generating electricity.
