Hamr: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hamr is located in the Třeboňsko Protected Landscape Area (“Chráněná krajinná oblast Třeboňsko”). The village is surrounded by forests and numerous ponds, while the Lužnice forms the cadastral boundary between Hamr and Majdalena.

Culture and History

The chapel “Kaple sv. Jana Nepomuckého” with a bell tower stands in Hamr. The monument to fallen and deceased soldiers (“Památník padlým a zemřelým vojínům”), unveiled on 12 August 1923, commemorates the past. The origins of Hamr are estimated to date back to the transition from the 13th to the 14th century.

Nature and Activities

Mushroom picking is possible around Hamr. The flat landscape particularly attracts cyclists during the summer months. The Lužnice river is also especially popular with canoeists.

The U jelení farm wooden hut offers game specialities from local sources. At U jelení farm in Hamr u Chlumu, children can feed a herd of red deer and fallow deer themselves.
