Kačlehy between the Village Square and Nature

Kačlehy is located in the Česká Kanada Nature Park and the gently rolling Javořická vrchovina. The upper part of the village is characterised by an elliptical village square with a chapel in the Baroque–Empire style dating from 1804. The chapel has its original, functioning clock mechanism, which strikes on the hour and every quarter hour.

Kačlehy has 41 buildings, most of which date from the second half of the 19th century. They are predominantly enclosed agricultural farmsteads with typical passage gates and discreetly decorated gables.

Nature

In the cadastral area of Kačlehy, the Krvavý a Kačležský rybník National Nature Monument protects natural alder and willow forests in wetlands, transitional mires, reed beds and wet meadows.

History and Monuments

The history of Kačlehy dates back to 13 June 1399. Historically, the area lay on the strategic border of Bohemia, Moravia and Vitorazsko.

The niche chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk in Kačlehy is a brick niche chapel of folk origin with a deep niche and a polychrome statue. It has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958. A yellow hiking trail marking runs through the niche chapel from the narrow-gauge railway stop in Blažejov to Landštejn Castle.

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary and the neighbouring cross in Kačlehy have been jointly protected as a cultural monument since 1958; the Chapel of the Virgin Mary is occasionally accessible.
