History and Culture

The first written mention of Jedlany dates from 1369. In the center of the village stands a recently reconstructed chapel with a bell tower. Beránek, which is associated with Jan Hus's sermons in the 15th century, is located near Jedlany. At Beránek, a polished granite memorial plaque in a simple stone monument commemorates the historic “Pilgrimage to the Mountains”; it was installed in 1970.

The Dolní Mlýn (Samcův Mlýn) mill is also one of the area's historic traces. It already existed in 1657 and remained in operation until 1962. At the end of that historical period, there was only one farm and three inhabited cottages in Jedlany; the remaining farmsteads stood empty.

Other places: Dudov, Vilice, Pojbuky, Tabor, Vresná, Vlastiboř, Slapsko, Meziříčí.
