Chlum: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
An unusual historical trace has been preserved near Chlum: the gold-washing area “Rýžoviště zlata” preserves remnants of above-ground gold mining on the right bank of the Závišinský potok in the form of a belt of spoil heaps, pits, and trenches.
Character of the Place
Chlum lies on the southern slope of a gentle hill and is partly surrounded by forests. The village’s features also include farmstead No. 6, which comprises a residential building. The agricultural farmstead has decorative gables above the residential building, the entrance, and the granary.
Routes and Landscape
The red cycling route No. 1 runs from Blatná via Chlum and back to Blatná. Another route leads through Chlum to Bronze Age burial mounds on Hora Hill. In clear weather, the route offers views of the distant peaks of the Šumava Mountains.

The ruins of the “Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast” and Štěrbina Mountain are located in the vicinity of Chlum. The “U Nivy [Chlum u Blatné]” hill is located in the immediate surroundings of Chlum.
