Bratronice: Holiday Apartments and Houses
Bratronice is notable for its late Renaissance manor house, built in 1603. There is also a chapel on the village square, built in 1930.
History and Architecture
The manor house in Bratronice bears the coat of arms of the Hořčice family, featuring two bear paws pointing upwards. The building contains the Chapel of St Joseph. In 1758, the manor house chapel was extended by a private oratory; it is attached to the east side of the building and covered by a barrel vault with lunettes. The manor house is privately owned and not open to the public.
Garden
The manor house in Bratronice has a French-style garden. It retains its enclosing wall with a Renaissance portal on the eastern side; a side entrance leads from a local road into the garden.
Cycling
Cycle Route No. 312 leads to Bratronice and runs from Mečichov via Bratronice and Jindřichovice to Blatná. Christian Battaglia took part in the longest national cycling marathon, “Praha–Karlovy Vary–Praha”, 25 times.
