Cehnice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Cehnice can be described from several perspectives: through its religious buildings, fortress, open landscape and a themed educational trail.

History and Culture

At the edge of the village green in the centre of Cehnice stands the Chapel of the Holy Trinity. It is a simple village-green chapel featuring elements of folk Baroque; in front of it stands a cross on a stone pedestal dating from 1830. Cycle Route No. 1072 runs past this building.

Around 1342, the Cehnice fortress is mentioned as the property of Rudolf of Cehnice.

Geographical Setting

The Cehnice fortress is located on the eastern edge of the village, south of the Cehnický potok stream. The fortress grounds are not open to the public.

Nature

The niche chapel dates from 1695. It stands at a former crossroads in the open landscape between Cehnice and Jinín. Due to its location in the open landscape, the niche chapel has an exceptional role in shaping the character of the landscape.

The Cehnické lípy are considered a group of trees.
