Drachkov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Drachkov is surrounded on three sides by forests that border the foothills of the Šumava Mountains. The Drachkovský potok flows through the village into the village pond and continues via ponds in the Holi forest to the Otava.

History and tradition

The first written mention of Drachkov dates back to 5 November 1318. A local tradition is Hnětynka, a speciality associated with the Posvícení festival in Drachkov.

Nature

In the upper reaches of the Drachkovský potok, lush vegetation with tall, robust plants grows along the banks. Visitors to Drachkov can enjoy a short walk that takes no more than half an hour. In the vicinity of Drachkov, a green-marked hiking trail leads to the 557-metre-high summit of Kamenná Bába.

The longer hike from Drachkov is just under 15 kilometres long and leads from Kraselov to Drachkov; this section is approximately three kilometres long. In the village of Příseky, a turnoff about 300 metres farther on offers a panoramic view to the northeast.

Trails

Cycling Route 1 is 16 kilometres long and starts and ends in Drachkov. Drachkov lies on the road from Strakonice to Kraselov, which passes through the Hůl forest and by Lhota u Svaté Anny.

Excursions

In the immediate vicinity, the Hoslovice water mill offers guided tours, regular events featuring bread baking and tasting, demonstrations of the mill wheel, as well as demonstrations of traditional crafts and agricultural work.
