Budyně: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The artistic blacksmith Václav Ebel continues the blacksmithing tradition of Budyně. The history of this craft also includes the forge of the Budyně blacksmiths, which dates from around 1850.

Culture and Craftsmanship

In the center of Budyně stands the well-maintained Chapel of St. Wenceslas. It dates from 1885.

Landscape

Budyně is surrounded by meadows and fields cultivated by local farmers. The pastures around Budyně are used to raise beef and dairy cattle. North of the village, there is a fallow deer enclosure by the road where the animals can be seen from close range.

Festivals and Events

During the St. Wenceslas pilgrimage in Budyně, a mass is held in the chapel in the morning. In the afternoon, the pilgrimage offers a program aimed mainly at children. The 2018 St. Wenceslas pilgrimage also featured a local nature photography exhibition with photographs by the young photographer Vašík Ebel.

A carnival celebration takes place in Budyně every year. A traditional Christmas concert is also held there.

Budyně can be reached by a limited number of bus services from Písek and nearby Bavorov; however, most residents rely on their own cars.
