Čečelovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Southeast of Čečelovice lies the 582-metre-high Žďárka Hill. From there, views extend across the landscapes of Strakonicko and Horažďovicko, as well as northwards over the Blatensko landscape. At the summit is a group of large boulders known as Kočičí kamna. There are also many ponds in and around Čečelovice, which are typical of the entire Blatensko region.

Nature

In the southern part of Čečelovice, near cycle route 1064, there is the Turistický přístřešek shelter. From there, views extend across large parts of the Šumava; information panels identify the surrounding hills and villages.

Culture

Several local legends are associated with the rocky site of Kočičí kamna. The ruins of the Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast are also located in the vicinity of Čečelovice.

Activities

The 2024 edition of the Čečelovický Drsoň duathlon included a 3-kilometre running course and a 20-kilometre cycling circuit.

Geographical location

Chlum Mountain is located in the vicinity of Čečelovice. The nearby area also includes Na Křížku Hill [Čečelovice], Kočičí kamna Hill [Čečelovice] and Březina Hill [Čečelovice].

The wider regional surroundings of Čečelovice include Hrad Zvíkov Castle and the historical site of Lety u Písku, known as the Memorial to the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti in Bohemia.

The Pětnice lookout tower is also located in the wider regional surroundings, on the Volyně elevation. Its viewing platform, 25 metres above the ground, offers views of Blatensko, Horažďovicko, Strakonicko, the Brdy and the Šumava. From Blatná, the tower can be reached by road in the direction of Horažďovice; behind Záboří, turn towards Čečelovice. There is parking near the tower on a forest road.

In the village

The Obecní hostinec village pub in Čečelovice is closed on Mondays. From Tuesday to Friday, it is open from 16:00 to 21:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 22:00.
