Culture and local history

On the ground floor of the south wing of the château in Střelské Hoštice, the Museum of the Otava River and Rafting is open along with a gallery. It can be visited from 3 June to 30 September, in accordance with the current opening hours at the time.

At the southern edge of the village stands the single-nave, east-facing Church of St Martin; its tower is located on the western façade. The church was built in 1822 in the Classicist style after the previous Gothic church burned down in 1819. Its valuable interior includes architectural elements such as vaults, the roof truss, a gallery and pillars.

Nature and paths

In the surroundings of Střelské Hoštice lies Kněží hora, a nature reserve with the remains of a Slavic hillfort, designated as an archaeological monument.

The Kněží hora educational trail has five stations with information panels and is intended for pedestrians and cyclists. It is approximately 4 km long and runs in the direction of Katovice–Kněží hora (Střelské Hoštice). In addition, cycle route 1066 connects Strakonice and Horažďovice.

Sports and rail connection

The multi-purpose sports field with a synthetic surface in Střelské Hoštice offers tennis, volleyball, nohejbal and basketball.

Střelské Hoštice railway station is located on line 191 on the Plzeň–Strakonice–České Budějovice route and is integrated into an integrated transport system.
