Culture and History

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands in Čichtice. It dates from the 19th century and features memorial plaques commemorating the victims of both world wars.

Čichtice is also home to the former fortress complex of the Hussite captain Mikuláš z Hosi.

Nature and Landscape

The Bašta pond lies on the eastern side of Čichtice. At normal water levels, it has a water surface area of 9.1 hectares.

The mountains Mužský, Volovický vrch and Libín are located in the vicinity of Čichtice. The burial mound field lies on a small elevated plateau and on a slope that gently descends south and southwest towards the valley of the Babí Stream.

Cycling

A cycling loop approximately 43 kilometres long passes through Čichtice. The loop runs mainly along existing cycle paths, follows Class III roads and crosses gently rolling terrain.
