Hoštice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hoštice is associated with the film series “Sun, Hay”. The town’s fire brigade museum also highlights characteristic aspects of its history and culture.

Culture and History

The Hoštice Fire Brigade Museum displays historic firefighting equipment as well as trophies and awards from fire brigade sports competitions. It also features exhibits related to Hoštice, including displays about the director Zdeněk Troška, who came from Hoštice, and the Czech country legend Michal Tučný.

The Jewish cemetery in Hoštice preserves 56 gravestones dating from 1735 to the end of the 19th century.

Hoštice Castle is privately owned and not open to the public. It is a single-storey building that probably dates from the 17th century and was rebuilt in 1777.

Music and Cuisine

Every year, Hoštice hosts the large country concert “Stodola Michala Tučného”. Hostinec U Miluny serves traditional Czech cuisine, including desserts.

Mount Chlum is located in the vicinity of Hoštice. Nearby are the Vrchaniny hill near Přechovice, the Na Prosíku hill near Přechovice and the Na Zabijáku hill near Milejovice.
