Štěchovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

In the northeastern part of Štěchovice stands the Zámeček, a single-storey, three-winged building with Renaissance origins. Later alterations were carried out in the Baroque style; its present appearance was created through a Neoclassical redesign.

Culture and history

The Špejchar, also called Špýchar, is located near the farmstead. The protected monument dates from the 18th century and served as a contribution storehouse.

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, dating from 1861, stands on the Strakonice–Volenice road. Near Štěchovice lies the Krčohrad castle site, the remains of a castle from the turn of the 14th and 15th centuries.

Traditions

During Easter, the tradition of Hrkání is maintained in Štěchovice: until Good Friday, children walk through the village four times a day. On Good Friday, everyone meets at the Chapel of Saint John around a fire and burns an effigy of Judas stuffed with straw.

Ponds and activities

Štěchovice has three ponds located about 1 km east of the village. Recommended cycling routes follow minor roads and local traffic routes; some sections also run along field and forest paths.

Štěchovice has a new sports field where futnet tournaments are also held. The sports field has a table tennis table and a rest pavilion.
