Hornosín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Hornosín draws attention to the Chapel of Saint Florian, a traditional account of its former settlement, and paths through the nearby and wider surrounding area.

Culture and History

The Chapel of Saint Florian in Hornosín was built in 1860 and completely renovated in 1933. It has a bell funded by a public collection, which was consecrated in 2001.

According to tradition, a former settlement of Hornosín was located on the road between Lnáře and Bělčice. It was looted and burned down by the Hussites and subsequently moved to a less conspicuous location. Today, Hornosín lies away from the main road connections.

The pilgrimage of Saint Florian took place in Hornosín in 2015 on the second Saturday in May. It included a gathering of local residents and friends of the municipality, as well as a traditional procession to the maypole. The pilgrimage of Saint Florian in Hornosín is planned for 2026. A local pub can also be visited several days a week.

Nature and Trails

The Kněžská hora hill [Bělčice - Újezdec] is located in the vicinity of Hornosín. The Štěrbina, Vinice and Nad Moráskem mountains are also located in the surrounding area.

A yellow-marked hiking trail runs through Hornosín along the route between Hvožďany and Blatná. A cycling tour in the Blatensko region reaches Hornosín after travelling at the foot of Kněžská hora along a farm track between the forest and a grain field. Another yellow-marked route descends along the edge of Soudný Forest to a picturesque pond hidden in the forest.

Events

The 6.7 km Kocelovice–Hornosín–Kocelovice road race is planned for 19 September 2026. The route leads uphill from Kocelovice to Hornosín.
