Puclice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Puclice Fortress is currently open to the public by prior arrangement. It lost its function as a feudal manor after 1765.

Culture and History

On the village square west of the pond stands the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene. It is a freestanding, masonry-and-plaster central chapel on a regular hexagonal ground plan. The earliest surviving records of Puclice date from the second half of the 14th century.

The Jewish cemetery in Puclice was allegedly established in 1750. It is a destination point on Route 1/1400, which passes through Puclice.

Paths and Landscape

The wooden lookout tower in Puclice stands on Křižovatka Hill south of the village and is permanently freely accessible. From there, parts of the Švihovská vrchovina, Všerubská vrchovina and Český les can be seen.

Geographical Setting

The wider regional surroundings of Puclice include Běleč Mountain. In the immediate vicinity are Hora Hill [Staňkov-město] and Peřina Hill [Osvračín]; in the surrounding area lies Planina Hill [Horšovský Týn].

Puclice can be reached from the main road from Plzeň via Staňkov, Křenov or Semošice.
