The Church of Saint Martin in Blížejov features a Renaissance portal with heraldic decoration, a side tower, and a band of wall paintings from the late 14th century in the presbytery.
Culture and history
In the southern part of the municipality lies the chateau complex with an agricultural courtyard on both sides of the road to Šlovice. The fortress, dating from the 14th century, was converted into a Baroque chateau; in the second half of the 19th century, the chateau was given a façade.
Archaeology in Blížejov also reaches far back into the past. The archaeological settlement area discovered there is dated, based on the pottery, to the Late Bronze Age, specifically the 10th to 9th centuries BC. As a newly discovered prehistoric settlement area, it increased the number of sites from this period in the Domažlice area to 17.
In Chotimer (Chotiměř), a district of the municipality of Blížejov, stands the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk. It is a cultural monument in a former chateau park, has a hexagonal shape, and consists of one above-ground storey.
Cycling connections
The Přátelství Cycle Route No. 2141 passes through Blížejov. The Furth im Wald–Plzeň section of International Long-Distance Cycle Route No. 3 also runs through the town.

Blížejov lies on the left bank of the Zubřina stream. The Planina hill [Horšovský Týn] lies in the immediate vicinity. In the wider regional surroundings of Blížejov are the mountains Spálený vrch, Škarmanka, and Běleč.
