Chotimer: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Chotiměř lies in the valley of the Zubřina stream. The village is home to the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk, which is listed as an immovable cultural monument in the Czech heritage register under registration number 22488/4-2035.

Culture

The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk has an articulated trapezoidal floor plan and is crowned by three sheet-metal domes. Niches on the front of the façade contain statues of St. Francis, St. Joseph and St. Catherine.

Other protected cultural monuments in Chotiměř include the statue of St. John of Nepomuk, bearing the Czech monument number 16455/4-2037, and the Calvary sculptural group, bearing the Czech monument number 24976/4-2036.

History

Chotiměř was first mentioned in 1379; at that time, Hněvek z Chotoměře was its owner. The original stronghold of Chotiměř stood on an island in the village pond and was mentioned as abandoned in 1547.

Landscape

The U Kalvárie archaeological site lies in fields east of the village, above the confluence of the Zubřina and Hradišťský potok streams. An extensive prehistoric settlement was identified at the U Kalvárie archaeological site in Chotiměř through surface finds.

Cycling

The marked Friendship Cycle Route No. 2141 runs through Chotiměř. The 105 km cross-border Friendship Cycle Route No. 2141 connects the tourist centre of the Upper Palatinate Forest in the Schwandorf district, in the town centre of Nabburg, with the Regional Information Centre in Horšovský Týn.

In the Czech Republic, Friendship Cycle Route No. 2141 runs along field and forest tracks as well as minor roads with little traffic.

Road III/18315 connects Chotiměř with Road III/18310 towards Lštění.
