Culture and townscape
Stará pošta is a historic post office building from the 18th century in Klenčí pod Čerchovem and has been protected as an immovable cultural monument since 1958. Its history is connected with a trade route that led from Prague via Plzeň and Klenčí onwards to Waldmünchen, Řezno and Regensburg.
The centre of Klenčí pod Čerchovem has been designated a village conservation area of folk architecture since 1995. Original houses have been preserved on both sides of the streets from Stará pošta to the church. St Martin's Church is a Baroque church built between 1737 and 1745.
The Výhledy folklore festival is held annually on the grounds of Stará pošta. Sacred monuments include the Lomikarova boží muka, protected Baroque wayside shrines from the second half of the 17th century. They are also the oldest sacred monument in Klenčí pod Čerchovem.
The Baarovo muzeum was established on the basis of the last will of Jindřich Šimon Baar. Its collection documents the life of the old Chods, their folk art and the literary legacy of Jindřich Šimon Baar.
