Velký Malahov: Vacation Apartments and Holiday Homes

Before it was incorporated into Horšovský Týn, Velký Malahov was the seat of the lesser nobility. West of Velký Malahov, a path leads past the “žabí” rybníček pond to a rock formation known as “ďáblova skála.” This rock formation contains a seat-shaped depression, which is associated with several legends.

Cycling

The T1 cycling route connects Honezovice, Velký Malahov, and Mezholezy. It runs mainly along dirt tracks and Class III roads with a low volume of motorized traffic.

Landscape

Four named hills lie in the vicinity of Velký Malahov: the hill “(Na Sahaře) [Velký Malahov],” the hill “Semněvický les [Semněvice],” the hill “Vinice [Mezholezy u Horšovského Týna],” and the hill “Malý Křakovský vrch [Mířkov].”

Local Festival

At the Dýňobraní pumpkin festival, competitions were held for the largest pumpkin, the most beautiful pumpkin decoration, and the tastiest pumpkin dish.
