Pasečnice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Pasečnice, a highly dispersed settlement structure, water landscapes, and traces of craftsmanship and architectural heritage come together. The buildings are surrounded by wild trees and accessible from many sides.

Landscape

Nová Pasečnice is home to a 2.97-hectare pond. It is fed by a stream from the Ve skalách hill and by water from a small pond in Stará Huť. The Studená Bystřice forms a large part of the western boundary of the cadastral area of Pasečnice and joins a stream from Pasečnice to form the Zubřina. In the Stará Pasečnice district stands the protected “u Maksů” lime tree, which is around 400 years old.

Architectural Heritage and History

The agricultural homestead No. 38, “U Svarbů,” is designated a cultural monument. On the left side of the farmyard stands a single-storey residential building constructed from round logs using the log-building method. Adjoining this residence is an enclosing wall with a semicircular arched wicket gate and a gateway.

Another historical trace leads to the extensive Salka quarry: alum was produced in the 18th century from the alum shale mined there.

Salka and Trails

The Salka rock cave lies on the wooded slope of Skalky hill. Its floor and the adjoining tunnels are filled with water. In winter, icicles may be seen above the small lake in the front part of Salka.

The forest route known as Sedlácká connects Stará Pasečnice with Česká Kubice.
