Nevolice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In the center of Nevolice stands the St. Martin’s Chapel, built in 1879 in the middle of the village square. It is dedicated to Saint Martin, the patron saint of farmers. Next to the chapel stands the memorial to those who fell in the First World War. The conical granite pylon on a base of cyclopean masonry commemorates six local citizens who did not return from the First World War; the memorial was erected on 30 May 1926.

Culture and History

Farmstead No. 36 is an example of local folk architecture. Another special connection to the village’s history leads to the important writer Alois Jirásek: in 1882, he attended a dance event at the U Vachurů inn in Nevolice and collected material here for his novel Psohlavci.

A possible historical branch of the Řezenská stezka trade route led from Stráž via Nevolice to Domažlice. In addition, a cooperative steam-powered mill operation was established in Nevolice. In the wider surrounding region lies the Chammünster Church, the Parish Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.

Landscape and Nature

Most of the Nevolice area consists of arable land and permanent grassland. The landscape includes field copses, tree-lined roads, remnants of avenues of trees in the fields, and scattered trees. South of Nevolice, the Nevolický potok flows through a biocorridor.

The mountains of Spálený vrch, Čerchov, Dreiwappen, and Škarmanka lie in the surroundings of Nevolice.

Paths and Routes

Cycling Route 2014, which is 56 kilometers long, runs through the Nevolice area. A tourist route also passes through Nevolice. A field track runs parallel to the old hollow way and is used as a hiking trail.
