Mutěnín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Baroque Church of Saint Bartholomew in Mutěnín was built in 1707 on the site of an older church. Its 32-metre-high tower is topped by a weather vane in the shape of a rooster; in the stone-paved floor there is access to the former crypt of the Wiedersperger family.

Culture and History

The Jewish cemetery in Mutěnín was established on Ovčí vrch in 1642 and has been carefully restored. A total of 162 gravestones or fragments have been preserved; the oldest legible gravestones date from the mid-18th century.

The chapel dedicated to Saint Sebastian is a family crypt of the Wiedersperger family, built in 1852 on the site of an earlier wooden chapel. The Chapel of Mary, Queen of Heaven, on the road to Ostrov was built in 1887 and reconstructed in 1992. The statue of Our Lady of Sorrows was erected in 1720 and returned to its original location in 2016 as part of a renovation.

Landscape and Geography

The mountains Železný vrch, Reichenstein, Škarmanka and Jacklberg are located in the vicinity of Mutěnín. Mutěnínský lom is an abandoned quartz diorite quarry in the Mutěnín Massif and an important documentation site of the Domažlice Crystalline Complex. It is located on the road to Starý Kramolín, behind the pond in a field.

Cycling Route

Cycle route 2281 is a 31-kilometre-long route running through Drahotín, Mutěnín and Hostouň.
