Ždánov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Ždánov, a château complex with Augustinian history, sacred monuments and the landscape of Pařezovský kopec come together. The individual sites and buildings give the village a clearly recognisable historical and landscape character.

Château and Village Character

Ždánov Château was built in 1730 by the Augustinians of Pivoň as a summer residence for guests of the Pivoň Augustinian Monastery. It has been designated a cultural monument since 1958. The Ždánov château complex includes a farmyard on the southwestern edge of the village.

The main portal of Ždánov Château was restored, including the reinstatement of the earlier colour scheme of the Augustinian coat of arms. Opposite the château stands a life-size sandstone statue of Saint Augustine, which is registered as an immovable cultural monument in Ždánov. In relation to the village pond, the historic centre of Ždánov forms an urbanistically significant compositional space.

Sacred Monuments

The Chapel of Blessed Coloman and Saint Pio of Pietrelcina was completed on 23 September 2018 and consecrated by Bishop Monsignor Tomáš Holub. A pilgrimage Mass is celebrated in the chapel in October.

The six-metre-high wrought-iron cross near Wendlovna was restored in spring 2012.

Landscape around Pařezovský kopec

Pařezovský kopec is a registered significant landscape feature between Ždánov and Pařezov. From there, views open up across the Český les, including Čerchov and the Haltravský hřeben ridge. Endangered orchid species can still grow on Pařezovský kopec.

Cycle Route and Further Monuments

Cycle Route 2287 is signposted and equipped with rest areas and educational infrastructure. Along the 21-kilometre section, information boards provide details about local history and other places of interest.

The restored Červený Mlýn is located in the cadastral area of Ždánov.
