Ostřetice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Ostřetice is situated in a hilly agricultural landscape on the northeastern edge of the Klatovy Basin. Since 1995, the village has been designated as a village heritage zone.

Culture

The village chapel of Ostřetice is already marked on maps of the stable cadastre from the first third of the 19th century. It has a square floor plan, a pyramidal roof and a polygonal bell superstructure.

At house no. 14, there is a preserved granary with narrow ventilation openings and a newer pavilion roof. A chapel of late Baroque origin has been preserved at the roadside on the northeastern edge of the village. At the roadside on the northwestern edge of the village stands a stone, cylindrical wayside shrine from 1840 with an iron cross, known locally as “sv. Martin”.

The Les Mýtě archaeological site in Ostřetice is designated as an archaeological site. It comprises a group of more than thirty burial mounds; the part located in the field has been ploughed up.

Landscape

The wooded hills around Ostřetice include Hora, with an elevation of approximately 483.9 metres. In the vicinity of Ostřetice are Běleč Mountain, Buzrakov Mountain (Plánický hřeben) and Úliště Mountain [Javor - Loučany]. Pohoří Mountain is located in the wider regional surroundings of Ostřetice.

Cycling

Cycle route no. 2076 connects Ostřetice with Točník. The cycling tour “From Klatovy through beautiful countryside to Plánice – birthplace of the inventor F. Křižík”, approximately 34 kilometres long, passes through Ostřetice.

The cycling tour between Klatovy and Plánice runs along cycle paths and lightly trafficked Class II roads. On the section of the tour from Klatovy via Ostřetice to Petrovičky, the route follows road no. 191 and includes gentle ascents and descents.
