Besiny: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Besiny can be described through two themes: sacred architectural heritage and routes through the countryside.

Culture

The Church of St. Bartholomew was built around 1370 in the Gothic style. It burned down in 1579 and was subsequently restored; it was abandoned in 1788.

The Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was originally a castle chapel built in 1654. The former chapel was later converted into a single-nave parish church. A large granite tombstone is located at the church; it was brought there from St. Bartholomew in 1845.

Cycling

The 11 km-long cycle path between Klatovy and Běšiny connects the two towns, runs through the valley of the Drnový stream, and stays completely away from the main road. Cycle Route No. 38 is part of the international Prague–Munich cycle route.

Hiking

The hiking trail to the ruins on Bartoloměj starts at the church in Běšiny and leads through Machov. Machov is considered the original settlement of Běšiny. The five stations along the hiking trail to the ruins on Bartoloměj feature information boards in Czech and German.
