A published 14 km-long hiking trail begins at the Nová Ves junction, 0.5 km behind Kbel, and leads via Nová Ves, Luh, Vlčí and Stropčice to Borovy.

The area around Kbel invites you to enjoy walks and outdoor activities in unspoilt nature. A hiking trail also runs through the districts of Kbel. Cycle route 2188 runs through the municipality of Kbel.

Culture and history

Nová Ves was established at the end of the 18th century. In historical church registers, the larger part of Nová Ves is also frequently referred to as Nová Ves Poříčská. The western, smaller part of Nová Ves is still known today as Lužanská Nová Ves. Lužanská Nová Ves was formerly a settlement belonging to the municipality of Vlčí.

Finds from burial mounds in the landscape around Kbel provide evidence of settlement by the West Bohemian group of the Tumulus culture during the Bronze Age. The Church of All Saints in Kbel is a Gothic church from the 14th century that was extended into a three-nave church in 1860–1861. The Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral is a church in the wider regional surroundings of Nová Ves.

Kbel lies in the long, flat valley of the Kbelský stream. Běleč is a mountain in the wider regional surroundings of Nová Ves. Buzrakov (Plánický hřeben) is a mountain in the surroundings of Nová Ves. The hill (V Boudách) [Vlčí] is in the immediate vicinity of Nová Ves. Stará pec [Měčín] is a hill in the immediate vicinity of Nová Ves.
