Životice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Životice presents several clearly identifiable features: a registered cultural monument, a distinctive body of water on the northern edge of the village, and a mill documented since 1543. Together, these places create a tangible picture of the area’s history and landscape.

Culture and history

Životice Chateau is a registered cultural monument. Its later owners, the Lipovští z Lipovic family, had the former fortress converted into a Baroque chateau between 1713 and 1738 according to a design by Giacomo Antonio de Maggi.

The Životický-Zámecký-Šimáňův Mill is also one of the village’s historical features. It has been documented since 1543, restored, integrated into the chateau complex, and serves to accommodate visitors.

Landscape

The Velký Životický rybník, a distinctive body of water, lies on the northern edge of Životice. The hill (Dálky) [Třebčice] is located in the immediate vicinity of Životice. Nad Moráskem is a mountain in the vicinity of Životice.

The mountains in the wider regional surroundings of Životice include Buzrakov (Plánický hřeben) and Štěrbina. The Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast, a ruin, is also located in this wider regional area.
