Netunice: Apartments and Holiday Homes

The first written mentions of Netunice date back to 1192. The village lies at the intersection of the two district roads from Plzeň to Blovice and from Přeštice to Rokycany. Netunice also has a children's playground and sports area.

Culture and History

The history of Netunice is closely connected with the local fortress. In 1379, Netunice was divided; one part was incorporated into Nebílovy. In 1780, Netunice Fortress was converted into a granary. It was no longer used by the lords of the manor from the 17th century onwards and gradually fell into disrepair.

The former fortress and granary complex consists of a two-storey building and an enclosing wall with arcade arches. The protected heritage includes the fortress building, the enclosing wall and the designated plot of land. The fortress complex is privately owned and not accessible to the public. Remains of sgraffito as well as a sandstone door surround by the windows on the first floor have been preserved. A modern chapel from the early 20th century is another cultural heritage landmark in Netunice.

Routes and Regional Destinations

In the wider region around Netunice, the 5.7-kilometre “Nebílovy Educational Trail” circular route begins at Nebílovy Baroque Chateau and has six stations with information boards. The Church of St James the Greater acquired its present form in 1722; František Maxmilián Kaňka was involved in its construction.

Also in the wider region is Prusiny, an abandoned medieval village mentioned in the 14th and 15th centuries. A presumed seat of a Vladik is believed to have stood in the vicinity of the Church of St James the Greater. Regional cycle route 2125 runs from Tyršův most in Plzeň via Radobyčice, Štěnovice and Prusiny to Netunice. A red-marked hiking trail also leads from Nebílovy to Netunice.
