Prádlo: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross is a originally Gothic building from the 13th century, constructed with the involvement of the Cistercian building workshop of Nepomuk. Another historical layer lies in the center of Prádlo: the former distillery was originally a fortress from the second half of the 16th century. This fortress has served as a distillery since the 19th century.

In 1997, Likérka Jenčík a dcery returned to Prádlo and established its production facilities in the former Engler mill building. Local history associates the name Prádlo with the washing of gold-bearing sand in the Middle Ages. Several spoil heaps have been preserved along the Úslava near Prádlo as remnants of gold mining.

The Plzen Barholomaeus Cathedral, a church, is also located in the wider regional surroundings of Prádlo.

Landscape and Trails

Prádlo lies in the southern part of the Radyňská vrchovina. Buzrakov (Plánický hřeben) is a mountain in the surroundings of Prádlo, while Nad Moráskem is a mountain in the wider regional surroundings. In the immediate vicinity of Prádlo are Dus [Měcholupy u Blovic], a hill, and Žinkovský templ [Žinkovy], also a hill.

Jeskyňka is a rock crevice in a distinctive rock formation in Borek Forest above Prádlo, crowned by a small, round stone gloriette. The stone gloriette at Jeskyňka was built in the 19th century by Princess Auerspergová. A red-marked long-distance hiking trail runs through Prádlo.
