Borovno: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Parts of the administrative area of Borovno lie within the Brdy Protected Landscape Area (CHKO Brdy), specifically in zones II, III and IV. The southern part of Borovno’s administrative area lies in Brdy Nature Park.

Nature and Landscape

Along the southern edge of Borovno’s administrative area, in the Dolní Borovno area, the Bradava River flows. The Bradava River is a Natura 2000 site of European importance (EVL) and flows through several flow-through ponds in the Borovno area. Two sites with the specially protected European globeflower are located in meadows south of Borovno’s built-up area.

Getting Around

A marked cycle route runs through Borovno along a Class III road. Borovno’s administrative area is crisscrossed by access roads that form suitable tourist routes. Borovno’s undeveloped area can be reached via existing local roads, access roads, forest and field paths, cycle routes and marked hiking trails.

In the wider area of the Brdy Protected Landscape Area, most of the region is crisscrossed by a dense network of forestry access roads; motor vehicles are not permitted to use them, making them suitable for hiking and cycling. Borovno is served by bus transport. The valuable natural and landscape surroundings, together with the clean air, create favorable conditions for recreational stays in Borovno.

Culture and Village Character

Borovno preserves original rural buildings, often grouped into former farmsteads. There are small local atonement crosses in Borovno.

The nearby Javor 51 depot had its own well, a diesel-electric generator and air filtration systems.
