Milínov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Milínov is situated in a secluded landscape between forests. Its villagescape combines a characteristic village green with historic buildings, while signposted paths lead to castle ruins, viewpoints and other local attractions.

Villagescape and architectural heritage

The elongated village green in Milínov is lined with gable-fronted farmhouses featuring gateways and Neoclassical gables. The village chapel, dating from around 1800, has an articulated Late Baroque façade. On the edge of the village stands the former school with its Eclectic façade.

Landscape and paths

The hill of Pramný to the east is a natural monument. In the cadastral area of Milínov, the reconstructed Kolejka forest road runs for 1,431 metres; it connects the tourist signpost below Lopata with Neslívský rybník.

A signposted hiking trail leads from Milínov to the ruins of Lopata Castle. Cycle Route 2039 also leads from the Milínov area to these castle ruins. The 10-kilometre F. X. Franze educational trail also runs through the wider surroundings of Kozel Chateau. At 13 stations with information boards, it presents the historical development of this cultural landscape.

Historical attractions

The ruins of Lopata Castle lie about two kilometres north of Milínov in the Plzeň-jih District, on a 420-metre-high rise above the valley of the Kornatický potok. They are protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic and form part of the nature reserve of the same name.

A yellow-marked hiking trail leads north from the former school in Milínov to Mariina vyhlídka. In 2014, a true-to-original replica of the former wooden structure was built there after the original structure collapsed in a storm in the 1950s.

A Visit to Farma Moulisových

Farma Moulisových can be visited at any time; the grounds are freely accessible. Four visitor programmes are offered there: farm, young animals, baker and horses. By prior telephone arrangement, visitors can also borrow a small pony for a walk.
