History and local character
The first documented mention of Kbelany dates from 1239. Until the second half of the 18th century, the village belonged to the Benedictines of Kladruby; during this period, 23 farmsteads were recorded in Kbelany. A hexagonal chapel with a small belfry at the top stands on the village square. A wayside shrine, probably built in the mid-18th century, stands on the road to Rochlov. The sandstone cross in Kbelany is of medieval origin and is a rare surviving example of the historical marking of boundaries between individual plots of land.

Regional cycle route 2204 runs through the cadastral area of Kbelany along existing local roads, service roads and farm tracks from Rochlov towards Sulislav.
Landscape around Harabaska
Harabaska is a 502-metre-high, wooded hill approximately 2 kilometres from Kbelany. Kbelany has several small ponds as well as a water reservoir on the village square. The area around Harabaska was formerly a military training ground. In the vicinity of Kbelany, Harabaska hill is mentioned as a destination for hikes. Near Harabaska, visitors may come across overgrown remains of old trenches and abandoned underground shelters.
