Bezvěrov: Apartments and Holiday Homes

In 1867, Czech entrepreneur Eduard Kavalier founded the Kavalier Glassworks in Bezvěrov. Hollow glass, crystal glass, chemical glass and, above all, laboratory glass were produced there and were valued overseas as well; the operation ended in 1923. The former Kavalier Glassworks in Bezvěrov comprises a group of residential buildings and factory buildings; both the residential buildings and the factory buildings are classified as technical cultural heritage.

Culture and History

Eight preserved sandstone boundary stones from a historic boundary system dating from 1686 are recorded in the cadastral area of Bezvěrov. Due to the extent to which it has been preserved, the ensemble of boundary stones is considered an exceptional example of land boundary marking in the 17th century and an important testament to historical development.

The Chapel of Saint Florian in Bezvěrov dates from the second half of the 19th century; its bell is still in use today. Every year on November 30, the feast of Saint Andrew, a pilgrimage mass with Trappist brothers is held in the Church of Saint Andrew in Krašov.

Nature

Bezvěrov is one of the ten municipalities in the Manětín Dark Sky Region. It covers 346 km² and offers a relatively well-preserved nocturnal environment as well as a star-filled sky. The Manětín Dark Sky Region is easily accessible to visitors; for nature conservation reasons, there are no movement restrictions there.

Hiking

The Bezvěrov–Vlkošov–Zbraslavský vrch–Kozelka–Doubravice–Nečtiny hiking route is 17.5 km long. It begins in Bezvěrov and initially follows the red-marked trail northeast to Služetín, 3 km away.
