Všehrdy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of St. Procopius in Všehrdy is a historically significant former parish church building, first mentioned as early as 1250.

Culture and History

Originally, St. Procopius was a Gothic church dating from the mid-14th century. From 1730 to 1732, it was redesigned in the Baroque Gothic style by the builder O. Kondel, based on a design by Jan B. Santini. The Baroque stone elements of the façade, including the coat of arms of Abbot Eugen Tyttl from 1732, were extensively restored. The cemetery at the Church of St. Procopius was established during the rebuilding in 1730–1732.

The cultural heritage project “Putování za Santinim” has a dedicated entry for Všehrdy focusing on the Church of St. Procopius.

The Týřov ruins and the Church of St. Martin are also located in the vicinity of Všehrdy. In the wider regional area are the Church of St. Peter and the Church of St. Gothard.

Nature and Geographical Setting

The area of Všehrdy belongs to the Berounka Nature Park. The nature park also includes the area of Všehrdy; a road runs through Všehrdy and continues via Holovousy, Chříč and Zvíkovec to the bridge over the Berounka.

The nearby area includes the Na Chocholouši hill [Hlince] and the Homole hill [Kožlany - Dřevec]. In the wider regional area are Berdovna Mountain and Holý vrch Mountain.

Routes

Road II/201 runs through the Všehrdy area in an east–west direction. From Všehrdy, a blue-marked hiking trail leads to Krašov Castle Ruins; the route is listed as 3.5 km long.
