Bohy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Bohy is located in the Hřešihlavsko Landscape Protection Area, and the area around Bohy belongs to the Berounka Nature Park. The restored Václav Tomeš educational trail features several information boards and rest areas.

Nature

In the immediate vicinity of Bohy are the hill Nad hřbitovem [Kladruby-Hřešihlavy] and the hill Na Chocholouši [Hlince]. In the wider regional surroundings of Bohy are Berdovna Mountain and Holý vrch Mountain. The Krašov geological site can be reached via a walkable tourist trail.

History

The Krašov castle ruins date back to a castle built before 1232 by Jetřich of the Hroznatovci noble family. The Rohy farmstead is located near the village of Bohy, was founded as early as the beginning of the 16th century, and rebuilt in the Baroque style in 1725.

A historic mill in the immediate vicinity of Bohy was rebuilt by Plasy Monastery in 1698 and is built of red sandstone from Potvorov. In the wider regional surroundings of Bohy are the Týřov ruins and the Zřícenina Valdek ruins.

Faith and Culture

During periods of drought, historic processions were held in the immediate vicinity of Bohy to the Chapel of St. Vojtěch, where prayers were said for rain. The Chapel of St. Vojtěch in the immediate vicinity of Bohy has Baroque origins, was blessed on June 10, 1714, and is a small niche chapel with a rectangular ground plan and a gabled roof.
