Město Touškov: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Město Touškov combines a protected heritage zone with distinctive religious buildings, Jewish history, and cycling and leisure opportunities. The heritage zone was designated by Regulation No. 476/92 Coll. of the Czech Ministry of Culture.

Culture and history

The present-day Church of St John the Baptist, the Church of the Nativity of St John the Baptist and the parish church of Město Touškov, was built in 1777–1778. The Trinity Monument, erected in 1723 by the sculptor Karel Legát, stands on Dolní náměstí. The Baroque presbytery was built in 1746 as a summer residence for the abbots of Kladruby.

The visible historical reminders in the town include commemorative plaques permanently installed in the pavement or in public squares. Their reliefs depict the buildings represented and are supplemented by brief historical explanations for visitors. During a guided city tour, the first ten plaques at historically significant buildings were ceremonially unveiled.

The Jewish cemetery is also part of the history of Město Touškov. Around 20 gravestones or fragments of gravestones have been preserved there. The oldest legible gravestone, whose discovery was documented in the 1930s, came from this cemetery and dated back to 1543.

Leisure and exercise

The recreational area by the pond features fitness equipment for adults, two large trampolines for children and young people, and an obstacle course.

There is a cycling connection between Město Touškov and Bdeněves. The cycle path connects to Cycle Route No. 37, is fully lit, and runs through the landscape along the Mže River.

The Touškovská Rokle route is designed for cross-country riding and features technically demanding, rough sections. The mountain bike trail runs through a gorge in the middle of a forest.
