Chříč: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Chříč Castle is a late Baroque building constructed at the beginning of the 18th century, with an L-shaped floor plan. The castle complex includes the Church of Saint John of Nepomuk, a farmyard, and a park with terraces.

Culture and History

The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk was built as a castle chapel in 1767. A statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dating from 1767 stands on a cuboid pedestal at a crossroads east of Chříč.

The Museum of Everyday Life is located in the Baroque malt house of the Chříč Brewery and vividly presents life in the village in earlier times. The Chříč Brewery has a fully copper, two-vessel brewing system with direct wood firing.

The Milada Šubrtová Memorial Hall was opened on 24 May 2014 in honour of the artist Milada Šubrtová, who came from Lhota. It displays personal belongings, documents from her singing career, photographs, costumes, concert dresses, and the Thalia Cup.

Natural Environment

Two-thirds of the administrative area of Chříč lie on the western edge of the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area. Part of the Berounka Natura 2000 site lies within the administrative area of Chříč.

The Dubensko Nature Reserve is located in the cadastral area of Chříč on the northern slope of the Javornice stream. Chříč is also home to a yew grove considered the largest in Central Europe.

Getting Around Chříč

Chříč can be reached by bus from Kralovice; there is also a bus service from Zbiroh in the morning and afternoon.
