Újezd u Sezemic lies between Újezdský Pond and Bohumilečský Pond. The two bodies of water are connected by the Bohumilečský Stream.

Nature

Újezdský Pond lies northwest of Újezd u Sezemic. It features shallow areas, reed beds, small islands covered with trees and shrubs, and vegetated banks. As an important stopover site during migration, it is significant for water-dependent and other water-associated species. The site is also a regular breeding ground for several duck species.

History and Culture

Újezd was first mentioned in 1436. The early development of Újezd and Bohumilec is believed to be connected with the Benedictines of Opatovice. In 1588, Újezdský Pond was one of the 56 manorial fish-breeding ponds.

Local sights in Újezd u Sezemic include a wooden bell tower. The stone cross by the wooden bell tower dates from 1908. The crucifixion monument is also one of the town's historic religious sights. A monument near house no. 37 commemorates those who fell in both world wars. In the Zástava district, there is a stone cross dating from 1924.

Memorial ceremonies dedicated to commemorating the victims are regularly held at the well-maintained war memorial in the town centre.
