Dolany: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

A nature reserve lies south of Dolany; along its edge runs a cycling and hiking trail towards Lázně Bohdaneč. Two kilometres from Dolany lies Oplatil Sand Lake, which is used for swimming by locals and tourists.

History and Monuments

The first written mention of Dolany dates back to 1228. At that time, the Vladika Mikuš donated the village to Opatovice Monastery. The Opatovický Canal is also a protected immovable cultural monument; the protected area encompasses the entire plot no. 669/1 in the cadastral area of Dolany u Pardubic.

Sacred Sites

The Chapel of Saint Florian was built in the mid-18th century and is protected as a monument. In the past, it served for religious ceremonies. The Church of Saint Vojtech was built within one year in 1913. Near the church there is an information board with a map of the area around Dolany.

Culture

Local sights in Dolany include a monument to those who fell in the First World War and a stone cross in the cemetery.

Football matches involving local footballers take place on the football pitch in Dolany. The fenced multifunctional sports court is particularly suitable for tennis, nohejbal and badminton.
