Řečany nad Labem is located just under 7 km west of Přelouč and, together with the local part of Labětín, amid extensive fertile fields. The northern part of the cadastral area is traversed by the Elbe.
Culture
The cadastral area of Řečany nad Labem is part of the Kladrubské Polabí heritage zone. The Church of St. Mary Magdalene was consecrated in 1165 and reconsecrated to Saint Mary Magdalene by Bishop Václav Nikopolský on 24 October 1407. A Romanesque apse and the eastern part of the nave have been preserved. A traditional pilgrimage is one of the local traditions of Řečany nad Labem.
The Zámek Kačina chateau is located in the vicinity of Řečany nad Labem. The Church of Svatý Jiří is also located nearby.
Nature
The Labské rameno Votoka natural monument is located in the municipalities of Řečany nad Labem and Semín, in the cadastral areas of Labětín and Semín. It protects an arm of the Elbe separated from the main river channel, with preserved flora and fauna. The group of granite blocks known as “Obří postele” lies in a forest two kilometres from the town centre.
