Sudslava: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Sudslava can be viewed from three perspectives: through its architectural and cultural history, via a specific cycling route, and through landscape destinations in the surrounding area.

Culture and History

The Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord is documented as a parish church as early as 1350. The present building is late Baroque and dates from 1772; its defining features include rich ornamental stonework and sculptural decoration.

In front of the former parish house stands a renovated Baroque statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The grounds of the former parish house are open to the public as a cultural monument and are used for an exhibition. During the repeatedly held Open Studios Day, guided tours of the cultural monument’s historic interiors took place in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Cycling and Water

The Vysoké Mýto–Sudslava cycling route follows Cycle Route 4230. It is 23 km long and is described as a moderately difficult route for road bikes, trekking bikes, and mountain bikes.

Sudslava also has a water reservoir where swimming is possible in summer.

The Surrounding Landscape

Domovina Hill [Lhoty u Potštejna] is located in the immediate vicinity of Sudslava. The Řetová and Strýc mountains are also in the surrounding area. Velká Suchá Mountain lies farther away in the wider regional area. There are also ponds and mushroom-rich forests in the vicinity of Sudslava.
