Landscape

Běstovice is dominated by a flat landscape. The Tichá Orlice flows through the cadastral area of Běstovice, which lies predominantly on the right bank of the river. The settlement of Darebnice is located on the left bank of the Tichá Orlice.

The Strýc and Řetová mountains are located near Běstovice. The nearby hills also include Podlán and Čertův dub.

History and Culture

South of the settlement of Darebnice, the Hradiště comprises a fortified area measuring 1.7 hectares, with a rampart approximately 2 metres high and a ditch of equal depth.

The Church of All Saints is a landmark of Běstovice. The single-nave church of medieval origin stands on a high elevation above a sand quarry, in the middle of an enclosed, round-shaped cemetery, and was restored largely at the expense of the municipality.

The former manorial granary, Panská sýpka, was built in 1712 and is one of the protected immovable cultural monuments of Běstovice. The burial ground in Běstovice is also of historical significance: together with the necropolis in Koldín, it is one of the easternmost necropolises in Bohemia.
